Weekly Garden Snapshot: 2022 final week
This is my first Weekly Garden snapshot for a project that I’ve been working on for a long time. For the past several years, I’ve been collecting pretty photos from around my garden every week, centered on Saturdays. I’ve always been curious to be able to see how things do and do not change over time, and these photos are my time capsule, where I can watch both the shifting of the seasons and how those seasons do and do not compare from one year to the next.
Below I’ve got two mosaics. The first put’s this week’s garden into context with the two weeks previous, and also the two years previous around this same time of year, with two possible glimpses of what next week might bring. The second mosaic is laid out the same, but looking back (and forward) two and four weeks, and two and four years, respectively.
We were lucky enough to get a very snowy New Years this year, even though we’ve also had the usual mix of dry and soggy leading up to that. In fact, after last year, the soggy is very much to be appreciated also.
Happy New Year. The snow never lasts as long as I want it to, but at least we get to enjoy it while it’s here.
