Happy New Year!

It’s still a pretty warm winter so far (snow’s all gone again), though not yet as very, very dry as that can mean.  My rose canes are still happy, anyway (let’s hope that continues to last!) and in the meantime there’s always the ever-growing vinca…

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years is a kind of chaos maybe pointing toward more snow.  The mosaic has nearly all the different types represented at least, from frosting, to thick-and-lacy, to bitter cold, to sunny soggy.  Of course, it needs to get actually cold to keep snow around…

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years the mosaic definitely gives a stronger impression of cold, especially for the years longer ago, but even that shows the brown, dry times too.  As weird as this is to say (scraping windshields is not my favorite thing), I think I’m going to hope for some frost at least.

…This week my garden is hanging out, waiting to see what happens next.
