photos taken August 18th 2024 of blooming hosta and a magenta-purple rose.

I haven’t been a great roses caretaker this year, and yet my Ebb Tide has been rewarding me, none-the-less, with some very lovely late-summer rebloom blossoms.  Also, my most reliable hosta is blooming and is making that part of the garden smell so nice.

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years shows a couple of reblooms from years past, as well as pretty sunflowers that have absented themselves for this particular year.  (I might get one this year, but it’s better not to hold my breath.)

A mosaic of 11 weekly garden images showing early to late August for 2022-2024. Sunflowers and sunny flowers, plus purples and pinks from ripening berries and plums, honey suckle, phlox and liatris, and roses.

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years, by a trick sampling, isn’t showing off any sunflowers, but does strongly concur that now is the time of the blooming hosta.  (Also, maybe my white rose, April Moon, will rebloom in a bit? maybe?)

A mosaic of 11 weekly garden images showing mid July to early September for 2020-2024. Primarily purples and yellows on the top row, verusus various pinks and whites on the two lower rows.

…This week my garden has some plums and pears littering the grass, so we must be creeping up on the end-of-summer season.
