Well, last week was the Final Installment of SSCS 04: The Heart of the Gull-Queen’s Huntress.

The next SSCS will start up in January. Although SSCS 05 was written using the same approach as all the other SSCS’s, the very first installment was actually written many years before the rest, as part of a writing game I was playing with a friend — years later I decided I just wasn’t done with this character, he’s too much fun.

Although I won’t be posting the SSCS 05 story title or first installment until next year, below is a tiny sneak peek with two clues about the story to come. 1. An obscured version of the icon image. 2. The very first paragraph (which introduces our new MC!).

Mohico walked into the Whale and Snapper Disreputable Gentlemen’s Club, angling immediately toward the bar where he sat down gingerly on one of the scuffed, horse-hide barstools.  Water pooled at his feet, dribbling down from over the knees and elbows of his now-ruined white linen suit.  The visit with the Duck had not gone well.
