Weekly Garden Snapshot: 2024 week 16

photos taken April 20th 2024 of snow-covered redbud and vinca blossoms.

Well, this week it snowed again.  It was a pretty slushy sort of snow, that started dripping down and melting almost right away, but it was multiple inches, so the melting and dripping took a bit.  In the meantime, new things were still blooming, including the dastardly vinca (annoyingly pretty when it blooms), and the redbud, which does not like the cold, but it forging ahead none-the-less.

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years shows us that vinca and redbud aren’t the only new purple flowers in store for the garden soon.  (And that this snow storm was pretty much on schedule.)

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years is a reminder just how quickly things have jumped ahead from the first pretty, purple crocuses.  And hints at the pretty lushness that May is likely to bring.

…This week my garden is filling up with blossoms, mostly on the trees, but the rest are definitely starting to show themselves too.
