photos taken January 28th 2023 of yucca spines sticking up from the snow and bare willows against an overcast sky.

This week is mostly continued coldness, the way so much of winter often is. My yuccas and my willows, as ever, persist. (There are little birds about, but not enough to get an easy picture.)

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years is a confirmation of snowy yuccas, with hints that maybe the earliest bits of spring will be soon.

A mosaic of 11 weekly garden images showing mid January to early February for 2021-2023. A lot of brown plants and green yucca sticking up from the snow.

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years keeps with the snowy and yucca themes (clearly I should classify yuccas as sculptural evergreens). Plus a reminder of sunflowers from a few years ago that went missing from my garden this past year (key members of the sculptural brown seed-heads category).

…This week my garden is patiently chilly.
