photos taken May 5th and 6th 2023 of red-orange tulips and profuse white apple blossoms.

It’s tulips-and-apple-blossoms season and my garden is glowing!  It’s always so gratifying when the Just-plants-lots-of-tulips-and-keeps-planting-tulips strategy pays off, as it definitely has this year.  Last year was nope for tulips, but this year they’re back.  Yay!

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years is a good reminder that spring color really does show up pretty suddenly, but will hopefully keep going for a few more weeks, with other flowers too, before we hit a lull.

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years, is a reminder that my hellebores were good and stalwart in being the first blooms of the season, and that my tulips can be another stalwart, sort of, as long as the ones that bloom at different times all agree this is a good year for blooming.  (Never underestimate those rabbits and voles!)

…This week my garden is glowing red-and-orange, luring me out to talk to the flowers even more than I perhaps have time for.
