photos taken September 16th 2023 of pink honeysuckle and silvery artemisia.

This week things have been both cooling off and a rainy enough to just be really nice in the garden.  My poor honeysuckle, traumatized by last winter’s cold snap, finally flowered a little, and isn’t that just happy and pretty.  (Fingers crossed for more honeysuckle next year!)

Looking back 1-2 weeks and 1-2 years is a surprisingly all-in study in fall flowers of all the types!  There are a lot more purples and pinks than usually come to mind when I think about this season.  Silly me, apparently.

Looking back 2-4 weeks and 2-4 years is leaning a lot more into foliage than flowers.  Will the wild plum bushes really be so intensely orange in just two weeks?  I guess we’ll see.

…This week my garden is surprisingly and exuberantly green, at least for a little longer.
